Rates:
Choral works, examples
3-4 minute piece with piano accompaniment, for middle school through young high school voices in two to four part voicing: ~$400-600
4-6 minute signature work for a high school advanced chorus: ~$600-1000 depending on complexity
Extended work, 7-10 minutes with piano and SATB chorus: ~$1000-1500 depending on complexity
Show choir
One 3- to 3.5 minute competition title with SATB vocals, rhythm section (pno, bs, gtr, dr, syn, perc), 3 to 6 brass/sax players: $595.00 + copyright licensing fee
Medleys: Add $100 per title
Rates decrease for: Fewer than 4 vocal parts, less complicated vocal writing for younger groups, shorter than standard length, smaller instrumental combo, quick “transcription” charts without major creative changes
Rates increase for: More complicated vocal requirements (frequent use of 6-8 parts on additional staves), larger instrumental combos (esp. involving multiple synthesizers, woodwinds or string players), generating original or extended dance breaks.
Vocal Jazz Ensembles
Typical 4-6 minute chart with rhythm section: ~$500-1000, depending on difficulty
Typical 3-5 minute acapella chart: ~$400-800, depending on difficulty
A Cappella Groups
Typical 3-4 minute acapella pop song: ~$250-500, depending on complexity
